About Me:
I am an experienced and highly qualified teacher who possesses a certified license for teaching Elementary English. I am also certified as a bilingual teacher. I am constantly participating in professional development courses to maintain myself up to date in every innovation that is presented in teaching English as a Second Language. I hope to be in constant communication with parents and I am very committed to providing your child with the best possible school experience.
I believe that my students come to me with different experiences, interests and learning styles. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of my students well enough to help them reach their goals and fulfill their needs. I am looking forward to guide them, motivate them, and support them in every possible way. I believe that in order to become a good teacher we must continue our professional development and reflect on our everyday experiences. I value parent involvement and hope you collaborate with me to give your child a fun, encouraging learning experience. Newsletter:
I want to make sure you are informed of upcoming events and what your child is learning in school. A bulletin board will be placed in a visible area in school and it will contain schedules and information pertinent to the coming week.
Homework:
Your child will have special homework each Monday that will be sent in the homework notebook. It will reflect the skills that we are covering. Homework is due on Friday. If the homework appears to be too difficult or too easy for your child, feel free to modify it. I do not punish children who don’t return their homework, but I often reward those who do. There will be a grade given on the report card for homework.
School Supplies:
Please send the following supplies to school. If you wish, you may label your child’s items. It is preferable to place your child’s items in a small plastic box or a decorated shoe box. If any extra materials are needed I will ask for them with at least 3 days in advance. At the end of the year the remaining material will be returned home.

- A 2 inch portfolio
- A small pressboard folder
- A jump drive
- Webster’s New World Dictionary (updated and revised 2003)
Behavior Expectations:
I have high expectations for the students in my room. I expect the students to achieve academically to their fullest potential. I expect students to contribute in a positive manner to my classroom. The following is a list of rules for the class.
1. Respect the teacher and your peers.
2. Making fun of others is prohibited.
3. Raise your hand if you want to talk.
4. When someone is talking, you should listen.
5. Be polite. Always say please and thank you.
6. Respect others’ property.
7. Snacks should be eaten outside the classroom.
8. Maintain the classroom clean.
9. Remain seated until the teacher tells you. If you need to stand up, ask for permission.
10. Bring your materials every day.
11. Be punctual.
12. Do your homework.
13. Playing and running is for outside the classroom.
14. Cursing is impolite. Use nice words.
15. Pay attention to the teacher.
16. Bring an excuse every time you are absent.
17. Unnecessary sounds are not allowed.
18. Treat the class materials with care.
19. Follow instructions.
20. Use the uniform correctly.
21. Remember that you must be prepared for class every day. Study every day.
22. Speak English freely; remember we are here to learn.
I will be using the “sticker” system to help monitor these behaviors. You will receive information about your child’s behavior each week.
Things You Can Do At Home To Help Your Child At School:
- Read to your child and allow them to read to you.
- Ask your child about school and take an interest in what they are learning.
- Make sure they get enough sleep.
- Set limits on the amount of television they watch.
- Make sure they have enough to eat. (We have a breakfast and lunch program available at school.)
